Character Creation
Creating your character is the first real step in beginning your adventure through the vast, mysterious world of Eris Online. This is more than just choosing how your character looks—it’s about defining your identity, strengths, limitations, and your unique path through the game.
Every decision you make during character creation will shape how you experience the world, interact with other players, and develop over time. These aren’t just cosmetic or temporary choices—they are permanent, and they’ll deeply affect your gameplay from the very first fight to the late-game political power plays.
Whether you want to be a fierce warrior, a clever support strategist, or a lone wanderer with a strange past, it all starts here.
Character Creation: The Four Core Choices
When building your character, you’ll make four major decisions. Each one opens doors—and closes others—so take your time and think about how you want to play:

Name
Your character’s name is more than just a label. It’s your identity in the world of Eris. Choose something meaningful, heroic, or mysterious—just remember that your first name must be unique among all players.

Race
Your race determines your starting attributes, which classes and traits are available to you, and how others may perceive you in the world. Some races are versatile, while others are highly specialized with distinct advantages.

Archetype
This is your base class, and it defines your core role in battle and progression. Whether you favor brute force, clever tactics, arcane mastery, or stealth, your archetype sets the tone for your journey and future promotions into advanced classes.

Traits
Traits add a layer of deep customization, allowing you to fine-tune your strengths—or embrace your flaws for unique bonuses. With over 100 traits planned, you can build a character that feels truly your own.
Each of these choices affects your abilities, gameplay strategy, and long-term development. You won’t be able to change them later, so take the time to read the descriptions and think about what kind of hero (or villain) you want to become.
Need inspiration? Think about the kind of story you want to tell. Are you a noble-born soldier? A cursed mage hiding from your past? A proud minotaur warrior exiled from your homeland? Your choices here are the first lines of that story.
In Eris Online, every characters begins with the same spark of potential—but it’s your Attributes that shape the way you face the dangers of this living world. These aren’t just numbers on a sheet; they define how you survive, thrive, and leave your mark on the realm.
Attributes grow slowly over time, through experience, training, and hard-earned victories. There are no shortcuts here—only deliberate choices and meaningful progress. Every point you invest changes how you interact with the world, and in Eris Online, decisions have weight.

Agility
Your agility determines how good you are at stabbing and shooting and how quick you can move when in danger.
An agile adventurer dances through battle, slipping between attacks, finding the perfect moment to strike. Whether it’s lining up the perfect shot in the forest’s dim light or dodging the swing of a troll’s massive club, agility rewards those who think two steps ahead.
- +Damage (Dexterity based weapons)
- +Attack Rating (Dexterity based weapons)
- +Defense
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to dexterity based skills

Charisma
Your charisma determines if people are willing to follow you and give you a discount at the shop.
Charisma isn’t just about a winning smile—it’s the ability to rally allies in the darkest hour and sway merchants to shave a few coins off that hefty price tag. In a world where alliances can decide the fate of a kingdom, charisma opens doors that raw strength cannot.
- +Damage (Charisma based spells)
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to charisma skills
- +Guild Leadership: determines amount of guild members
- +Power of NPC followers/guards

Endurance
Your endurance determines how far you can run and how many hits to the skull you can take before you drop dead.
Endurance is what keeps you standing when lesser warriors fall. It’s the steady breath after a long sprint across the battlefield, the stubborn refusal to drop your shield when your arms are aching, and the grit that turns close defeats into narrow victories.
- +Hit points
- +Stamina
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to constitution based skills

Intelligence
Your intelligence determines how many skills you know, and if you are smart enough to remember how to cast your spells properly.
The mind is as dangerous a weapon as any blade. A sharp intellect allows you to weave complex spells, solve ancient riddles, and adapt your strategy mid-fight. In Eris Online, knowledge is power—sometimes quite literally.
- +Damage (Intelligence based spells)
- +Attack Rating (Intelligence based spells)
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to all skills

Perception
Your perception determines how good your eyesight is and if you actually hit what you’re aiming at.
A keen eye sees opportunity where others see only shadows. Perception helps you track a beast through the wild, spot an enemy before they spot you, or land a decisive strike in the heat of battle. In a land full of hidden dangers, awareness is survival.
- +Ranged accuracy
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus to perception based skills
- +Detect stealthy characters

Spirits
Your spirit determines how much power you can channel from the spirit realm. Those with strong spirit are more than mere mortals—they are conduits for ancient forces.
Spirit fuels your connection to the unseen, empowering you to call upon protective wards, summon bursts of mystical energy, or commune with beings beyond the veil.
- +Mana
- +Damage (Wisdom based spells)
- +Attack Rating (Wisdom based spells)
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to wisdom skills

Strength
Your physical strength determines how hard you can hit someone and how much junk you can carry.
Strength is the raw force that sends enemies sprawling and lets you haul the treasures they drop. It’s the solid weight behind a warhammer swing, the power to lift fallen allies to safety, and the muscle that makes even the heaviest armor feel light.
- +Damage (Strength based weapons)
- +Attack Rating (Strength based weapons)
- +Carry weight capacity
- +Character size
- +Equipment requirement
- +Bonus points to strength based skills
Building Your Legend
In Eris Online, there’s no “best” attribute—only the one that best fits your path. Every hero’s journey is unique, and your choices here will echo through every profession you take, every battle you fight, and every story you write in this world.
When you’ve found your footing, the next step is to explore your Professions—advancing from your base class into specialized roles that shape your destiny.
Character Traits: Build Your Identity
Traits are one of the most powerful ways to define your character’s uniqueness. While archetype determines your general role, traits let you fine-tune your character’s strengths, weaknesses, and specialties.
There are over 100 traits planned, and each one provides a bonus—but also costs attribute points to select. This creates a meaningful trade-off and encourages smart character planning.
What Can Traits Do?
Traits can:
Boost specific attributes (e.g., Strength, Intelligence, Agility)
Improve weapon or skill proficiencies
Add passive bonuses (e.g., faster health regeneration, increased critical hit chance)
Unlock racial or class-based synergies
Info
Example Traits:
Stupid: You lose intelligence but gain additional attribute points to allocate elsewhere.
Northerner: You are better adapted to cold climates, gaining +5% cold resistance.
Pikeman: You have increased proficiency with polearm-type weapons.
Slave: You have improved piercing and slashing abilities.
Designing Your Build
Choosing traits is about building a character that feels like your own. Do you want to be a sneaky rogue with a hidden magic talent? A tough healer who can tank? A fast-hitting warrior who trades defense for speed?
Traits make these hybrid and specialized builds possible.
Tip
You can’t take every trait. Think carefully about how each one fits into your overall build. Traits that complement your archetype will feel stronger, but sometimes choosing a flavorful weakness can make your character more fun and distinct.
Important Reminder
Your archetype and traits are permanent, so take your time to read through the options. There’s no respec system (yet), and your choices will shape your story, strengths, and progression in Eris Online.
