On Character Creation...
Character creation consists of four main choices: name, race, archetype and traits.
All choices effect game play to a large extent and none of the choices can be changed once the character has been created.
Creating an Identity
First and last name can be freely chosen within reason, however, first name must be unique.
Gender can be selected for humans but it does not have an effect on game play.
Character Race
There are 10 planned races and 2 announced, Human and Minotaur. Race greatly effects character attributes and also restrict which classes and traits can be selected.
Humans have balanced attributes and are capable of becoming all four archetypes, while Minotaur have high strength and endurance and can only be Fighters or Healers.
We plan to offer many non-traditional races.
Character Archetype
There are two tiers of classes, a base class, which we call an archetype, and an advanced class that can be selected later in the game.
The four basic archetypes are: Fighter, Healer, Mage and Rogue. Each archetype is unique and plays how you would expect. Advanced classes are shared among the four archetypes, with the potential to create vastly different play styles, depending on the initial archetype chosen.
For example, a Fighter and a Healer may promote to the same advanced class, but the Fighter would focus on physical combat and the Healer on curative or supportive magic.
Character Traits
There are over 100 planned traits, with each giving a boost to character attributes, skills, or other bonuses at the cost of attribute points. Traits allow for specialized and unique characters to be created.
